What are people most worried about?
The biggest concerns are usually pickpockets, losing personal belongings and, for solo travellers, the fear of ending up alone with the wrong people. Paris is a fantastic city, but visitors often arrive already cautious because they have heard stories about theft.
What are the real risks?
In real life, the most common problems are much less dramatic: phones or bags left behind, inattention to pickpockets once alcohol starts to take effect, and trips or falls between venues. That is why we keep the route central, use trusted partner venues and supervise the group closely.
- One guide for approximately every 15–20 guests
- One guide at the front and another at the back when needed
- Regular reminders before moving to the next venue
What happens if someone drinks too much?
If a guest has clearly had too much to drink, we stop the alcohol immediately, give them water and help them recover somewhere calmer. If they cannot continue, we help them organize a safe ride home rather than leaving them alone on the street.
This is also why pub crawls can work well for solo travellers, including solo women: a good team watches the group, pays attention to people who seem isolated and applies a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment.
How can you stay safer during the night?
Wear a cross-body bag if possible, never keep your phone in your back pocket and do not leave it on a bar table. If you lose the group, do not panic and do not wander the streets aimlessly: go back to the previous venue, where the staff usually know our route.
Before going out, download Uber, Bolt or G7, check that your payment method works, carry a power bank and save your accommodation address. On weekdays, many metro lines stop around 1:15 AM, while Friday and Saturday usually run later, so always check the last departure in advance.
Who is responsible for safety?
Safety is shared. Guides choose safe venues, supervise the group and step in when necessary. Guests also have a responsibility to know their limits, follow instructions and look after their belongings.
Our number one tip is simple: alternate every alcoholic drink with a big glass of water. The biggest danger during a pub crawl is often not Paris itself, but bad decisions made after drinking too quickly.
