Choose the format that fits your night
I’m Amine, and I organise pub crawls in Paris. For solo visitors who want to meet people, a group can make the first conversation easier. You have a shared starting point and an activity to talk about. But a pub crawl is still a group night: the itinerary and pace are organised, and you may not choose every venue yourself.
Going out alone can suit you if you already know where you want to go or prefer a quieter, more flexible plan. You will need to check each venue’s entry rules and organise your own route. With either option, plan your journey home, keep your phone charged and carry valid physical ID.
A few details make a difference
Before choosing a crawl, read what the ticket includes. On mine, drinks are purchased separately; the promotional shot at participating bars is offered with the first alcoholic drink purchase, not with soft drinks, and there is no included shot at the club. If that format matches the kind of Halloween night you want, a pub crawl can be a practical way to meet people. If not, Paris gives you room to make your own plan.
To decide, ask yourself three things: do I want to meet new people, do I want someone else to organise the route, and am I comfortable following a group schedule? If you answer yes to most, a crawl may suit you. If you want to choose the music, stay as long as you like in one place or avoid moving between venues, an independent night may feel better.
Choose what suits you
You can also combine the two approaches. Join a crawl for the first part of the evening, then decide whether to continue or head home. Check the event rules so you understand what happens if you leave the group. Whatever you choose, share your plan with a friend, keep enough battery on your phone and do not depend on a stranger for your way home.
