Start around Notre-Dame
Begin on the cathedral square and study the restored façade before walking around the exterior. Access conditions can change, so check the official cathedral information if you want to enter.

Continue to Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie
Walk west toward the former royal palace complex. Sainte-Chapelle is known for stained glass, while the Conciergerie connects the island with medieval and Revolutionary history. Both require separate admission when you visit inside.
Pause at Place Dauphine
Place Dauphine offers a calmer triangular square behind the courthouse. It is a useful pause between the monumental eastern side and Pont Neuf at the island’s western tip.
Finish at Pont Neuf
Despite its name, Pont Neuf is Paris’s oldest surviving bridge. Walk onto the bridge for views along both sides of the Seine, or descend toward Square du Vert-Galant when access and river conditions allow.
